Team Mass Boys has been around for over 25 years! It was founded in 1998 and started by Vincent Siniscalchi known as Coach S by all of his players over the years in soccer and basketball. Vin had 3 sons, Michael, and twins Joseph and Christopher that have all played for Team Mass growing up. He took over the program when his sons were young and continued to run it long after they graduated for the youth to be able to play affordable basketball. He ran the program, coached and ran many successful tournaments every Spring and Fall over the last two plus decades.
Vin coached at Tantasqua High School for over two decades. He started coaching junior high soccer, then moved up to JV Soccer, where he coached for over 20 years. He coached Freshman basketball as well for many years. Vin retired in late November 2021 and was looking forward to continuing to coach. Vin was a successful coach, he had many undefeated seasons, and the kids all loved playing for him because he gave everyone an opportunity on the soccer field or on the basketball court. He had just finished another JV Soccer season and was preparing for another freshman basketball season. He passed away unexpectedly on the last day of Freshman Basketball tryouts in December of 2021. He passed away doing what he loved, coaching the youth. Vin will forever be missed by his family, friends, players, the Tantasqua sports community, and the Team Mass community.
Team Mass is now run by Vins son, Chris Siniscalchi. He started Team Mass back up in the fall of 2022 with 1 team, they grew to 8 teams the following spring 2023, and this spring 2024 they had 13 teams. He has played basketball his whole life, playing all 4 seasons, and also played for Team Mass from 4th grade until he graduated. After graduating, Chris had a desire to coach like his father, so he started coaching for Team Mass and created an older boy's teams. He is well versed in coaching youth sports, and has coached both soccer and basketball at Tantasqua. He was the junior high soccer coach for two years where he had success in winning just like his father, and he had one undefeated season. Chris was also the Freshman Basketball coach at Tantasqua for two seasons, and helped Mark Muska by being the Varsity Boys Assistant Basketball Coach. Chris has seen how his dad ran things for over 25 years. Chris strived to run tournaments like his father did. Chris envisioned combining the boys and girl's programs to give the kids a chance to stay playing locally. Chris's goal is to grow the program and give everyone a chance to play affordable basketball.
